Suppressing Appetite
One of the most effective ways to suppress your appetite is to drink water. Whenever you begin to feel hungry drink a glass of water, wait 20 minutes or so and see if those hunger feelings have passed. If they haven’t I would suggest eating an apple. Apples are a great source of fiber and because it takes a while to chew through an apple, it tricks your body into thinking it is full. Before you eat a large meal, like lunch or dinner, try making a salad and eating that.
Who hasn’t gone to a nice, fancy restaurant only to be totally full before the entree arrives? We are so busy eating bread, appetizers, and salads that we are too full to eat the main dish. Eating a handful of nuts is another way to curb your appetite. In fact, nuts are a great source of protein and it doesn’t take much before you are actually feeling good again. Add flaxseed oil to foods because that also helps suppress the appetite.
