Basil has a sweet flavor that goes well with many dishes, especially Italian ones.

Basil contains monoterpenes, phytonutrients with disease-fighting antioxidant properties. Whenever I start to experience digestion problems, upset stomach, or cramps I’ll drink some basil tea.  Try steeping 2 teaspoons of dried basil in 1 cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 15 minutes and then strain it. To enjoy basil all year long, try blending fresh leaves with emough olive oil to make a smooth paste. Then freeze it in an ice cube tray and add it to pasta or soups.
